Dove, Pampers, among others, cited for toxic ingredients by consumer agency

Did you know that some products including Baby Products and Toothpastes contain toxic ingredients? As the readers of Truth In Skincare know quite well, you can't take labels at face value. You can be using dangerous ingredients, and there is minimal federal oversight or regulation. Thankfully, we have consumer agencies that try to fill the informational void.

Here's a list of some of the ingredients (some of which have been covered by this blog already) that have been picked out by the French consumer organization UFC Que Choisir and labelled as "Toxic Substances in Cosmetics".

Typical big brands make the list including, but not limited to, Addidas, Axe, Biolane, Biotherm, Carrefour, Caudalie, Clair, Clarins, Colgate, Creme of Nature, Disney, Dove, Frizz Ease, Garnier, Head & Shoulders, Kera Science, L'Oreal, Mennen, Nivea, Oral-B, Palmer's, Pampers, Sensodyne, and many, many more.

Some of the offending ingredients:
  • phenoxyethanol
